Horrific peeks, Beyond is near, and punky card games…

  • Arkham Horror: The Card Game: A new expansion is on the way for Arkham Horror TCG and we get a look inside the box! Just a peek, though. The Path to Carcosa will bring new scenarios to investigate as well as introduce six new investigators. Two of those investigators highlighted today, the Soldier and the Secretary, give new ways to tackle those maddening mysteries. Mark Harrigan (Soldier) allows you draw a card anytime damage is placed on a card you control, giving you incentive to step in front of attacks aimed at your fellow sleuths. Minh Thi Phan’s ability allows her to cull the positive effects from card you can discard and use them toward tests by other investigators at other locations. The Path to Carcosa is currently available for pre-order.

  • Renegade: A new cyber-punk themed deck-builder from Victory Point Games has launched on kickstarter by the name of Renegade! The game is for 1 to 4 players (5 if a certain stretch goal is achieved) and challenges them to save the world from Super-Massive Computers, one in particular called “Mother”. The hacker players use  “…informational, destructive, deceptive, and cognitive attacks” to achieve this along with the hacker specific abilities of the avatar you choose. The game has zipped past its goal and is into its stretch goals.
